Sunday

Yesterday was the first Sunday in our new home. My husband and I have the arduous task of finding a new church. I was not looking forward to this, as no church could live up to the standard set by TCBC.

Sunday morning we tried a church that my husband's sister attends. I was nervous and I was even more nervous about leaving my son in the nursery. "I don't know these people!", was the thought running through my head. To make matters worse, the nursery attendant was late. So, my mind kept worrying that someone who didn't care enough to show up on time to watch children was going to look after my baby. "Crazy Wife", as she is know, almost made an appearence. Needless to say, the woman did show up and the baby was fine.

The rest of church was just that, fine. The people were a little friendly and the pastor seemed nice, but we just felt discouraged.

We debated on whether or not to go to Sunday evening church. We decided to go at the last minute and ended up going to a different church. We were so glad that we did. The people were so friendly! We met many couples with kids and 4 different couples invited us to a parenting Sunday school class. Also, the message was just what we needed. It was about sharing what God has done in your life and how we, as Christians, need to testify to the goodness of the Lord. The Lord reminded us of all he has done for us. We are so blessed!!

I also learned what an ebenezer (from "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing") is. See I Sam 7:12.

A bonus to this great night was a couple, who just moved here & starting seminary in Jan., invited us out for coffee.

We are so glad that we decided to go to evening church!

My very dear friend! I am so glad that you felt so welcome at the Sunday night church! You have opened your arms to so many back here in Indiana that it is time for others to open their arms to you! I'm sorry I missed your goodbyes... I just knew I would make us both sad! I love you all and am very thankful for you! You always had a knack at making one feel welcome! I will miss you here terribly and will look forward to keeping up on the Bennett's!
