Kidless

Erik promised me a trip to New York City for my 30th birthday, but since I was 38 weeks pregnant on my b-day, we went to NYC last weekend using Erik's Hampton discount (definitely the way to go!). Erik's mom watched the kiddos, so we got two days kid-free. It was a much needed break. Most days feel like survival mode, so it was nice to relax, sleep in, talk about current events, and NOT watch any cartoons! On Friday, we went to the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art. It was MOMA's free day, and it was crazy, but so worth it! We also hit a German cafe that was ranked the best cup of coffee in the city. It made Starbucks seem like gas station coffee!

On Saturday we walked around Greenwich Village, Soho, and Little Italy. It was fun exploring. We found an amazing used bookstore called The Strand. Their slogan is 18 miles of books. I guess if you add up all the shelf space, you have 18 miles. We found lots of good deals. The only problem was we had to carry our purchases around the rest of the day.

I posted some pictures for you to enjoy! Check out my new shoes. The heel broke off my boot on Saturday, so I found these in the city. You wouldn't believe how cheap they were!
